Eleven Mile Canyon is the home water of Fallen Tree Lodge. Located at the entrance to the canyon, the lodge provides anglers convenient access to this renowned section of the South Platte River and the opportunity to spend more time fishing and less time driving.
The South Platte through Eleven Mile Canyon is a beautiful tailwater fishery below Eleven Mile Reservoir, offering anglers opportunities for rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout. The canyon combines productive trout water with dramatic granite walls and a classic Colorado mountain setting.
Eleven Mile Canyon can also provide excellent winter fly-fishing opportunities. Because the South Platte is a tailwater below Eleven Mile Dam, releases from the reservoir can help keep portions of the river open during the colder months. Winter anglers often encounter fewer people, but fishing can require a more delicate approach with lighter tippet and smaller flies.
Conditions change throughout the year, so anglers should check current river flows and water temperatures before heading into the canyon.

The Dream Stream is a well-known section of the South Platte River between Spinney Mountain Reservoir and Eleven Mile Reservoir. This open South Park tailwater offers a very different fishing experience from Eleven Mile Canyon and is known for its trout fishing as well as seasonal movements of larger fish.
Spring and fall can be especially interesting times to fish the Dream Stream as rainbow and cutthroat trout, brown trout, and kokanee move through the system at different times of the year. The open landscape can also bring strong winds and rapidly changing weather, so anglers should come prepared for South Park conditions.
Because flows, water temperatures, weather, and fishing conditions can change throughout the season, anglers should check current conditions before heading to the river.
